Lithuania

"What is west of Belaruse and and South of Latvia?"

Today I went to the home school class my boss' daughter goes to once a week. I went to watch and take notes so that I could plan out her week, in terms of what she needs to do. The first subject they studied was geography:

There was a map quiz, right at the beginning. Everyone stood up on the sides of the class, to answer the questions that the teacher was going to ask.
" what country is south-west of _____ and North of ______?"
One by one they went down the line.
All but one girl got out the first round, as the questions moved over to the boys, only one boy missed his question. Eventually there were two left. a boy and that one girl.
The two of them answered each question without any hesitation.
It was pretty amazing....I guess Home schooling produces smart kids!! :)

Mainly though, the little boy who knew Europe like the back of his hand, reminded me of Beau (I try not to use names, but right now I don't care.) I thought about how he may have been 'that kid' when he was younger....
It made me miss him more...

...and now I want to go study maps.

like a natural disaster.

"How's Philly?"

I feel like I'm in a tornado. This sounds silly because I keep using this comparison, but things really feel like a whirlwind that I have little to no control over.

All of the sudden, I am in a Japanese Restaurant waitressing till the wee hours of the morning, sitting around with people who only speak chinese suggesting sushi dishes I've never even tried myself...not to mention, sleeping over at my boss' house so I can tutor their daughter in the mornings...

who the hell AM I?? ha

what am I doing and WHERE am I?

I've been 'living' with my two dear friends and I never even see them. This past week I saw them maybe for like an hour for 2 nights and then one night they were already in bed when I got home.

Yet, I'm strangely ok. I have a peace about life, although there are decisions awaiting an answer. It's odd. I have no idea what life will be like, and I have no idea if it's what I want....but who really knows what they want? I'm just gonna keep moving forward and keep making decisions. I figure God will lead me through them. :)

Today the pastor at church talked about rest/ the sabbath. I need to rest more.

we should ALL REST.

....until next time (I'm being picked up by my boss and her husband later to stay at their house...WEIRD.haah)

$21

this is how much I made tonight at the Japanese restaurant that I started at tonight. I worked from 3-11. I was also the first one to leave. It was fun, but man do I need to start getting paid more.

The owner was drunk and he was pretty useless, so we had a pretty hectic night...apparently tomorrow is expected to be busier. NICE.

I was planning on being home way earlier...and I really wanted to be, but I guess I'll be coming home even later once I actually start. the bar is open till 2...some nights you don't get home till 3...sucks.

Oh well. It was kinda fun today, cause I was jsut moving around doing things I've never really done. I'm excited to get to know the people and be a waitress for once in my life. It's something I've always wanted to try.

I like Philly a lot.

The skyline is freakin awesome. I wish God would tell me where "home" was.

....Funny thing is I think I actually know where home is. It's just not ready to house me. :) patience child.

Here's something a friend sent me, and I'm thinking about it a lot...it makes me chuckle and smile, but at the same time freaks the heck out of me:

"Every process of disintegration in the order of the world is irreversible; the effects, however, are hidden and delayed by the dust cloud of the big numbers, which contains virtually limitless possibilities of new symmetries, combinations, pairings."

Limitless possibilities are what I've always wanted and what excited me, yet I can't shake this uneasiness towards the weight of the decisions I make as I watch everything decompose.
Your thoughts?

scheisse.

God didn't shut the door I thought he would. the draft is unbelievable.

haha. I should never assume.

LOVE

I have officially/unofficially moved to philly. This is all happeneing so fast! I have not very much timr to process and i just have to kinda keep moving.

I'm excited though. it's scary but it's like a rollercoaster, where you're nervously awaiting that flying feeling, not sure when it's going to come, but you know it will be thrilling when it does finally hit.

Portland was good. thought about staying, but I think I'll miss people too much at this point to even be useful. ha

I read a lot on the plane and I think that I have things to share, but I'm sleepy tonight and there is a Lizzard friend behind me who I'd love to join in slumber.

I'm living with her again. really didn't think it could happen again. I love her. :)

"You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told)"

Today I talked to an old friend for a pretty long time. we were never really close and I had really only met her through someone else. nonetheless we talked for like an hour and shared about life. It seems we're going through very similar things except on opposite sides of the country. It was nice to talk.

I'm home from Philly for today. Tomorrow I leave for Portland.

Things are happening so fast I don't even feel like I'm processing anything.
I'm a mix of emotions right now. We'll see how it turns out. :)

"Do you know about Sake? Do you drink?"- my hopefully soon to be employer.

She'll soon be a kitchens.

I am exhausted.

Today we had a wedding shower. It was a good time and I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in a while. It was funny to see E going through all the traditional wedding shower things and being the center of attention (which she loves). We unpacked most of her Kitchen gifts that she got from the shower, and it was exciting to see her and her fiancee's new Kitchen coming together. I'm still soo excited that they are getting married. It is still a very happy thing for me to think about.

I am in Philly this week. The goal is to find a job. :)

I am really bad at this.

Let me know if you know of any amazing jobs in Philly.

I'm pretty excited to go to Portland, as the week approaches. I haven't seen my friend for YEARS now but that just makes it so much more exciting.

Oh I had my interview for the residency program....
It went ok, but my excitement has slowly diminished as I realize the commitment that I will be making if I decide to stick it out....4-5 years. that's as long as I was in college(and I went through 3 schools and 5 majors in that time.) I just have to trust that God will tell me what to do soon. :)

....lots on my mind. I am tired though. sleep tightly.
